Astrid Entertainment is a distributed gaming studio seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to push the boundaries of cooperative open-world experiences. You will engineer systems in C++ and Blueprints, prototype features with design, and ensure code quality across a fully remote team.

Join a diverse crew spanning the US, the UK, and beyond, with regular in-person meetups. You’ll mentor peers, document technical decisions, and help shape emergent gameplay through iterative development and robust

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in video game development.
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine and its tooling.
• Experience with co-op and systemic design principles.
• Ability to prototype and iterate quickly with design.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Experience with C++ and Blueprint-based workflows.
• Ability to document technical decisions for teams.

Responsibilities

• Engineer systems, implement features and tests in C++ and Blueprints.
• Prototype gameplay features in collaboration with design and engineering.
• Identify and highlight potential problems and risks with proposed solutions.
• Share knowledge, mentor and support colleagues in your area of expertise.
• Champion engineering quality (code reviews, automated tests, release processes).
• Plan, estimate and prioritize work.
