Mondrian Alpha have partnered with a prestigious hedge fund which have rapidly expanding offices across NY, Hong Kong and London. Due to growth, they are looking to hire a confident Fund Controller for their London team. They are hiring this initially as a 12 month FTC as they are looking to restructure some of the team between London and NY but this could then convert to a permanent role.
The role is incredibly broad and covers all aspects of fund accounting, P&L management and Valuations across their 3 flagship strategies. It will be responsible for managing and enhancing and investor reporting, as well as analysing and presenting performance data for board meetings. When they launch new funds or managed accounts, this position will play a key role in efficiently structing and onboarding. They outsource a large portion of the fund accounting, so this will work with the larger team to review and prepare shadow NAV calculations for each investment vehicle. They are continuously looking to streamline processes and would encourage any automation/systems/process improvement projects
They are looking for an ambitious and highly competent qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA) with 1-6+ years PQE either working in a hedge fund or a bank. It is important to have familiarity with hedge fund structures, including equalization accounting and valuation techniques, and have proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS. You should also have advanced system skills (excel/data visualisation tools/accounting systems/Bloomberg). Must be on max 1 month notice.
Given the FTC request, the firm will be prepared to offer a substantial increase in base salary for the right candidate (up to £120k depending on experience plus bonus). The firm attracts some of the top talent across the alternative investment space. They have a range of competitive benefits which include a fully subsidised canteen and excellent pension.
