Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Control or Valuations role within an investment bank or buy-side firm.
  • Manager or Senior Manager level candidates from a Top 10 Accountancy Practice will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate reporting of the Fund's performance to stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate valuation of the trading portfolio by performing assessments.
  • Provide reporting of the Fund's Net Asset Value to internal investors and regulators.

The Company

The Role

Management and oversight of the North East Fund Control Team, responsible for effective control and accurate reporting of the performance, portfolio valuations, and Net Asset Value of the investment Funds. The team collaborates with various departments including Trading Desk, Risk, Quant, Investor Relations, Middle Office, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Technology.

Responsibilities

  1. P&L reporting - deliver accurate reporting of the Fund's performance to stakeholders, including breakdowns by asset class, strategy, time buckets, and risk attribution.
  2. Valuations testing - ensure the trading portfolio's accurate valuation by performing assessments against independent pricing data sources.
  3. NAV reporting - provide reporting of the Fund's Net Asset Value to internal investors and regulators, including review of management and performance fees.
  4. Non-core project work, such as tenure progresses.

The Person

  • A minimum 2:1 degree from a Russell Group University or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Control or Valuations role within an investment bank or buy-side firm.
  • Manager or Senior Manager level candidates from a Top 10 Accountancy Practice will also be considered.
  • Some knowledge of financial products such as bonds, equities, and simple derivatives is preferred, even if not previously encountered professionally.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, and Tableau is advantageous.
