Job summary

A leading Automotive OEM is seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer for a 6-month contract involving ISO 26262 work products related to Assisted and Automated Driving. This hybrid role requires a Masters degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in functional safety. Successful candidates will contribute to technical discussions with suppliers and develop key safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in functional safety within automated and assisted driving domains.
• Proficient in creating ISO 26262:2018 Parts 3 and 4 work products.
• Experience managing suppliers per Development Interface Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ISO 26262:2018 work products as specified in the Functional Safety Plan.
• Maintain all ISO 26262:2018 work products for assigned items.
• Develop and execute Integration, Verification, and Validation test specifications.

I am currently recruiting on behalf of an Automotive OEM, based in Leamington Spa, who are seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join their team

Job Description

As Senior Functional Safety Engineer, your main responsibilities are:

• Delivering ISO 26262:2018 work products specified within the Functional Safety Plan for Items related to Assisted and Automated Driving
• Maintain all ISO 26262:2018 Work Products for assigned Items including Item Definition, HARAs, Functional Safety Concepts, and Functional Safety Requirements.
• Own the development and execution of Integration, Verification and Validation test specifications and other relevant documents/analyses.
• Own the development of all planned ISO 26262:2018 work products up to and including the Item Safety Case.
• Conduct technical discussions with suppliers and technical partners as required.

Qualifications / Skills needed

• Masters degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic or Automotive Engineering, Batchelors degree and equivalent industrial experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience of functional safety within the automated and assisted driving domains
• Experience creating ISO 26262:2018 Parts 3 and 4 work products, in particular FSC/FSR, ITS/ITR and SGVP/SGVR.
• Experience in Integration, Verification of FSRs and Safety Goal Validation.
• Experience managing suppliers in accordance with a Development Interface Agreement.
