Job summary

HealthHero in Bristol is hiring a Senior Fullstack React Engineer to own features end-to-end for our direct-to-consumer digital clinic. You will drive frontend work with Next.js, server-side integrations, and multi-tenant architecture, shaping patient journeys and clinical workflows.

You’ll partner with product, design and clinical teams to deliver accessible, scalable care experiences, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability and performance. Hybrid working in Bristol is available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production web applications with React and TypeScript, with strong Next.js experience
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and auth/session flows
• Experience with payments/subscriptions (Stripe or equivalent) and PCI considerations
• Strong testing habit (unit/component testing + E2E testing)
• Modern CSS and responsive UI development with accessibility in mind
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git workflows, and monorepo tooling

Responsibilities

• Build patient-facing features end-to-end across Next.js frontend and server-side BFF
• Own integrations with Medusa, Stripe, clinical APIs, and CMS services
• Lead technical design for multi-tenant/white-label platforms across regions
• Craft accessible UI in shared components and ensure consistency

We have an exciting opportunity for a SeniorFullstackReact Engineerto join our Product & Tech team on a full-time, permanent basis in Bristol. If you're a self-starter with a keen interest in software development and enjoy collaborating in a team setting, we want to hear from you.

About the role

You’ll be a senior engineer on our B2C team, building HealthHero’s direct-to-consumer digital clinic, where patients access adult ADHD assessment, diagnosis and ongoing treatment, and a clinician-led weight-management service with medication delivered to their door. You’ll own features end-to-end: from accessible, beautifully-crafted React user journeys through to the server-side integrations that connect commerce, payments, clinical systems and pharmacy fulfilment. Your work directly shapes how thousands of patients experience life-changing care, from the very first click.

Day to day, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Buildpatient-facing features end-to-end across our Next.js frontend and server-side BFF layer - onboarding and eligibility journeys, subscription checkout, condition management, medication reordering and patient records
• Ownintegrations with the services behind the app: Medusa commerce, Stripe subscription billing, HealthHero’s clinical platform APIs, our questionnaire/triage engine, pharmacy services and Sanity CMS
• Leadthe technical design of new services and markets - the platform is multi-tenant and white-label (UK, Ireland, Germany and retail partners), with feature-flagged rollouts and full internationalisation
• Craftaccessible, responsive UI in our shared component library (Radix primitives + Tailwind), keeping quality and consistency high across every patient touchpoint
• Championengineering quality - unit and component tests with Vitest, end-to-end and accessibility tests with Playwright, thoughtful code review and green pipelines in GitLab CI
• Improvereliability, performance and conversion - using Datadog RUM, OpenTelemetry tracing and analytics to find and fix what matters most to patients and the business
• Mentorother engineers and raise the bar through pairing, review and knowledge sharing
• Collaborateclosely with product, design and clinical colleagues to turn regulated healthcare requirements into simple, humane user experiences

What you will bring (the must-haves):

• 5+ years building production web applications, with deep expertise inReact and TypeScriptand substantialNext.jsexperience (App Router, server components and server actions ideally)
• Genuinely fullstack: comfortable designing and consumingREST APIs, building backend-for-frontend layers, and working with authentication flows (OAuth/OIDC) and session management
• Experience withpayments and subscriptions- Stripe or a comparable provider - including checkout, billing lifecycle and failure handling
• A strong testing habit: unit/component testing (Vitest or Jest + Testing Library) and end-to-end testing (Playwright or Cypress)
• Modern CSS and component-driven UI development (Tailwind, Radix/shadcn or similar), with a real commitment toaccessibility
• Fluency with CI/CD pipelines and collaborative Git workflows (we use GitLab), and monorepo tooling (pnpm workspaces, Turborepo)

Desirable Skills (nice-to-haves):

• Headless commerce (Medusa, commercetools, Shopify) or headless CMS (Sanity, Contentful) experience.
• Internationalisation and multi-tenant / white-label product experience.
• Observability tooling (Datadog, OpenTelemetry) and feature-flag-driven delivery (Unleash, LaunchDarkly).
• Experience in healthtech or another regulated domain, or building direct-to-consumer e-commerce journeys.
