Role Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and proactive Senior Sports Coach to join our dynamic team. This role involves leading your own partner school, delivering outstanding curriculum-based PE sessions, and working collaboratively with the school to develop a top-tier sports provision aligned with the Sport First Standards.

Outside of school delivery, you’ll contribute to new projects from our Tameside-based office, assist with session planning, and play a key role in leading our popular Sport First Holiday Camps during school breaks.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of a partner school’s PE programme, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and progressive sessions.

• Develop strong relationships with school staff to support the wider aims of the school’s physical activity and wellbeing agenda.

• Deliver multi-sport sessions across a variety of key stages, promoting skill development, confidence, and enjoyment.

• Assist in the planning and implementation of new Sport First projects from the office base.

• Lead and support holiday camps across the Tameside area, ensuring fun, safe, and enriching experiences for all children.

• Maintain accurate session plans, registers, and evaluations.

• Uphold the Sport First Coaching brand and ensure all delivery meets our high standards.

• Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate.

• Proven experience working in a primary school environment.

• Confident delivering a range of sports, with adaptable teaching styles for different abilities and personalities.

• Strong understanding of behaviour management and experience dealing with diverse needs and temperaments.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• High personal standards of professionalism, punctuality, and presentation.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Level 2 or above in Multi-Skills or UKCC sport-specific coaching qualifications.

• Experience mentoring junior coaches.

• Experience in planning schemes of work or curriculum development.

• Driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel may be required across sites).
