Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the development of a new mobile application and its supporting cloud platform. This hands-on role involves architectural decisions, scalable systems, and production-quality code that delivers reliable performance.

You'll work across mobile, web and cloud technologies, interfacing with connected devices, processing large data volumes and delivering a seamless user experience in demanding real-world environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with React.
• Experience building production mobile apps (native or cross‑platform) and cloud‑native platforms (GCP).
• Strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems and API design.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging systems and event‑driven architectures.
• Understanding of SOLID, clean architecture and automated testing.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the development of a new mobile application and its supporting cloud platform. This is a hands-on engineering role with significant technical ownership. You'll be responsible for designing scalable systems, making key architectural decisions, writing production-quality code, and helping establish engineering best practices as the team grows. You'll work across mobile, web and cloud technologies to build software that interfaces with connected devices, processes large volumes of data, and delivers a seamless user experience in demanding real-world environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the architecture, development and deployment of a greenfield mobile application
• Design and build scalable cloud services to collect, process and manage structured and unstructured data
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations across distributed systems
• Build intuitive, high-performance user interfaces across mobile and web platforms
• Design data storage solutions, messaging infrastructure and backend services supporting real‑time and asynchronous workflows
• Establish best practices around software architecture, testing, CI/CD and system observability
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews and collaborative development
• Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver new product capabilities
• Evaluate architectural trade-offs, identify technical risks and help shape long-term platform strategy

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on React
• Experience building and releasing production‑grade mobile applications (native or cross‑platform)
• Strong experience designing and building cloud‑native platforms, ideally using GCP
• Proven expertise in software architecture, distributed systems and API design
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging systems and event‑driven architectures
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including SOLID principles, clean architecture and automated testing
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and debugging skills

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating mobile applications with device hardware or sensors
• Knowledge of image processing, computer vision or machine learning applications
• Experience designing offline‑first applications and data synchronisation strategies
• Exposure to robotics, embedded systems, IoT or edge computing technologies
• Experience working with high‑availability distributed systems
• Contributions to open‑source software or technical communities
