Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join our growing engineering team delivering scalable web applications and backend services. You will work across frontend and backend with React, Node.js, Java, and Python to build robust software solutions.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features, ensure security and reliability, and support CI/CD and cloud deployments across platforms.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Node.js.
• Experience developing applications using Java.
• Experience building services and automation using Python.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with authentication methods such as OAuth2 and JWT.
• Proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join a growing engineering team building scalable web applications and backend services. The successful candidate will have experience across both frontend and backend development, with strong knowledge of React, Node.js, Java, and Python. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that support business growth and improve user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications.
• Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using React.js.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js, Java, and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver new features.
• Integrate applications with third-party services and databases.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Support CI/CD processes and cloud deployment initiatives.
• Ensure security, scalability, and reliability across all applications.

Backend Development

• Commercial experience with Node.js

• NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis)

Cloud & DevOps

• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
