Job summary

TRG Screen in Belfast is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Java) to design, develop, and evolve backend services and frontend applications across our enterprise product suite. Qualifications

• Strong Java experience (5+ years) in enterprise or large-scale backend systems.
• Experience with complex, established codebases.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience in modern front‑end frameworks (Angular, React, or similar).
• Knowledge of relational databases and ORM frameworks.
• Solid understanding of clean code principles, design patterns, and testing practices.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and frontend applications, including modernisation of complex, established codebases.
• Participate in the full SDLC - requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
• Operate independently on complex tasks, owning features end-to-end from design through to deployment.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to clean code principles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, including performance and scalability challenges.
• Use AI tooling as standard practice across design, implementation, code review, and testing to improve quality and delivery speed.
