About the Role

Abnormal Security is looking for a tech lead on our Portal Platform.

Our customer portal is the gateway our customers use to interact with Abnormal. We'll be spinning up a team dedicated to uplevel the portal architecture to reach & maintain enterprise grade stability, security & usability for our customers while enabling application teams to easily develop & deploy their frontend components.

You'll be the technical lead of this new team, collaborating with the engineering manager to chart the course & drive execution. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a distributed team & has worked in a full-stack capacity before in enterprise environments.

What you will do

1. Work with the Engineering Manager & Product Manager to craft the roadmap for the Portal Platform team.
2. Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.
3. Implement features and user interfaces to better demonstrate Abnormal's value to our customers.
4. Identify and resolve performance and user interface issues.
5. Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team.
6. Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities.

Must Haves

1. BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering field.
2. 5+ years experience designing and building full stack web applications.
3. 1+ years as a tech/team lead for a team developing end-user facing features.
4. Expert on JS, Typescript, React.
5. You're growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time.

Nice to Haves

1. Familiarity with our stack (AWS, K8, Python/Django, React, Postgres).
2. Experience with large scale web frontend applications.
3. Experience with web security (eg. OWASP top 10).
