Job summary

Abel & Cole is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to shape the direction of our customer-facing web and mobile platforms. You will lead hands-on development with Next.js, React Native, and .NET APIs, while guiding engineering decisions and best practices across the codebase.

You will own features end-to-end, from design through delivery, monitoring, and deployment. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on coding in a collaborative, agile team focused on reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience as a full-stack engineer with strong TypeScript.
• Proven experience with React and React Native, including shipping apps to App Store and Google Play.
• Experience building web applications with Next.js (or strong React web experience).
• Solid understanding of consuming REST APIs (experience with a .NET backend a plus).
• Experience with state management using React Context and hooks.
• Strong automated testing habits — Jest, React Testing Library.
• Confident with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps ideal).
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to grow teams.
• Familiarity with Agile practices and the Software Development Lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer-facing products (web and mobile) using Next.js and React Native.
• Integrate REST APIs with typed OpenAPI/Swagger clients.
• Contribute to backend endpoints in .NET powering both platforms.
• Own features end-to-end from design to delivery and monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and set coding standards and architecture direction.
• Address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
• Champion DevOps, security, and best practices across teams.
• Support multi-environment builds and app store releases.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA in an agile team.
• Mentor mid- and junior-level engineers through code reviews.
