As Zapp enters its next stage of growth, we are hiring Senior Full Stack Engineers to join our 'Operations Technology' team, which owns vital services that power our critical frontline operations. They ensure smooth operations between our suppliers, distribution centres, Zapp stores, and our end-customers.

In a typical backend role, you might never get to interact with your end-customer or witness the impact that your work can have on productivity and efficiency. In contrast, we'll allow you to physically visit our distribution centres and our Zapp stores to see first-hand how your work can drive KPIs such as worker productivity, order accuracy, and inbounding/putaway speed.

Core responsibilities:

• Work closely with our designer and product manager to propose and build the next generation of our operational tooling.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams who rely on the data we own and produce.
• Become a domain expert in our distribution centre, store, and supplier operations.
• Improve the quality of code commits pushed to production.
• Work with your manager to grow and maintain a mature team of engineers.
• Define and monitor critical KPIs to evaluate performance.
• Represent Engineering in quarterly and annual planning sessions.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in backend and frontend development.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of systems through thorough testing and optimization.

Essential skills:

• 5+ years of backend experience with Node.js.
• 3+ years of frontend experience with React.
• Experience with data design and database architecture.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with DevOps in AWS or GCP.

Desirable skills:

• Serverless architecture
• Experience with event-driven systems
• Building dashboards and tooling around cloud infrastructure
• GCP experience
