Job summary

Informed Solutions is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Leeds-based team. You’ll lead design, development and delivery of complex digital solutions for the public sector, taking end-to-end ownership of meaningful greenfield projects while guiding colleagues to grow their skills.

We operate as a technology-agnostic consultancy, with opportunities to work across .NET, Java, Python, Node.js, AWS and Azure to deliver the best solutions for each challenge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in a Full Stack Engineering role.
• Advanced skills in .NET, Java or Python, plus modern JavaScript libraries.
• Experience taking ownership of delivery across the full lifecycle from design to operation.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns including serverless and microservices.
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) with TDD.

• Lead on architecture and design of components or services with high-quality documentation.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Informed Solutions, you’ll take a leading role in designing, building, and delivering complex digital solutions that tackle real-world challenges in the public sector. What you’ll do

• Own delivery of services: Take responsibility for the engineering and delivery of small-to-medium services (or major components of larger services) across the full lifecycle, from design and build through to deployment, operation and continual improvement.
• Lead on architecture and design: Take ownership of the end-to-end design of components or services, producing and maintaining high-quality documentation.
• Support delivery planning: Partner with Delivery Managers to plan and structure technical activities, provide accurate and commercially sound estimates, and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, issues and dependencies.
• Build stakeholder trust: Act as a trusted technical advisor to client counterparts, partner organisations and third parties, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical delivery.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years’ proven experience in a Full Stack Engineering role, with advanced skills in .NET, Java or Python, plus modern JavaScript libraries.
• Experience taking ownership of delivery for services or significant components across the full lifecycle from design to operation.
• Strong understanding of architectural and design patterns, including serverless and microservices, with the ability to lead and assure their application.
• Experience working in Agile environments, using Scrum, Kanban and test-driven development (TDD), and contributing to delivery planning and estimation.
• Experience mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers, providing guidance and enabling high quality, efficient delivery.

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working in a consultancy environment, engaging with external stakeholders and clients.
• Exposure to public sector projects and delivering solutions in complex organisational landscapes.
