Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, JavaScript, Kubernetes, and AWS. This individual will play a key role in driving the development of digital solutions and leading technical initiatives within the organisation.

The Role

1. Work within a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions using PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, JavaScript, Kubernetes, and AWS.
2. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
4. Drive technical initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices, code quality, and scalability.
5. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
6. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance software development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in software development using PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, CSS, SCSS, SQL, REST, and HTTP.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
• Strong understanding of digital solutions and the ability to drive technical innovation within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in technical project management and defining/prioritizing technical requirements.
• Knowledge of best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and scalability.

This role is based in central London, working 4 days per week. No sponsorship is available for this role.
