Job summary

Binariks is seeking a Senior Full-stack Developer (Java, Typescript) to join our team on a UK-based fintech project. You will craft backend services in Java/Spring Boot, expose gRPC/REST APIs, and build React/TypeScript screens.

You’ll work closely with a small product team, owning service quality, deployment, and operational stability from concept to production. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in full-stack development, strong Java and React expertise, and a product-engineering mindset.

Qualifications

Binariks is looking for a Senior Full-stack Developer (Java, Typescript) to join our team.

About the Project

A UK-based FinTech company specializing in payment gateway solutions for African markets. The company focuses on secure, scalable, and high-performance transaction processing, leveraging a modern cloud-native microservices architecture. With a strong emphasis on banking expansion, they are developing new financial channels to enhance system interactivity. Their tech stack includes Java, MySQL, RPC, Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, and S3. The team tackles challenges related to complex transaction systems, high-performance databases, and seamless banking integrations, ensuring reliability and innovation in financial services.

Position Overview

The candidate will join a small product team that owns a set of finance-facing services and internal web applications end-to-end, from initial idea through to production. In this role, the candidate will design and build backend services using Java and Spring Boot, expose and consume gRPC and REST APIs, and build React and TypeScript screens. Working directly with the team lead, product owner, and QA, the engineer will actively shape what gets built, not just how, maintaining full ownership of service quality, deployment, and operational stability.

Your responsibilities

• Design and implement event-driven microservices from scratch;
• Provide integrations with our customers and partners;
• Complete the most challenging coding tasks;
• Ensure high quality of code base and continuously improve it;
• Streamline software development process to achieve a better quality, scalability and maintainability;
• Closely collaborate with product stakeholders to deliver quality output on time.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience with Java and React ecosystem;
• Proven experience in full-stack software development with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot;
• Hands‑on experience building frontend web applications with React and TypeScript;
• Strong experience designing, exposing, and consuming gRPC and REST APIs;
• Solid knowledge of database design, data modeling, migrations, and message queues; Experience with full system observability and cross-stack production debugging (logs, databases, queues, traces);
• Daily experience using AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code) with full ownership and deep understanding of all generated code;
• Product engineering mindset: proactive attitude to question assumptions, propose alternatives, and shape scope early;
• High coding standards, strong focus on writing testable code, and experience integrating with QA automation frameworks;
• Ability to work autonomously, communicate status transparently, and raise blockers promptly; Operational experience managing alerts, runbooks, and incident follow-ups.
