Job summary

Secondmind is seeking a skilled React frontend engineer to join our product development team in Cambridge. You will build production-ready web applications with sophisticated data visualisation, collaborating closely with UX designers, product managers and fellow engineers.

You’ll own frontend features end-to-end, write robust tests, and advocate for solid engineering standards. Familiarity with TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, and modern tooling will help you thrive in our cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with the React framework and proficiency in TypeScript.
• Familiar with version control systems like GitHub.
• Familiar with translating Figma based design prototypes, with openness to closer collaboration with designers.
• Familiar with CSS-in-JS libraries such as Styled Components.
• Advocate and implementer of frontend best practices including automated testing with Jest and React Testing Library.

Responsibilities

• Deliver web applications that are secure, scalable, fault-tolerant and performant, while being intuitive and visually engaging.
• Transform complex datasets into compelling visual stories for our solutions.
• Implement methodical automated tests (unit and end-to-end) to ensure code reliability.
• Own work end-to-end from conceptual design through deployment and beyond.
• Raise frontend standards through pragmatic, principled technology choices and cross-functional collaboration.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure product development aligns with customer needs.
