Job summary

Aubay UK is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer – React focused to join a long-term contract engagement supporting a large-scale data and analytics transformation programme within the energy sector. The role will lead migration of front-end apps to modern React solutions, establish technical standards and mentor developers from London, Canary Wharf area.

You will drive delivery using React, Node.js and Azure, collaborating with product owners and stakeholders to ensure high-quality software

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD delivery practices.
• Full stack development with strong front-end focus.
• Technical architecture and solution design experience.
• Test Driven Development (TDD) and quality engineering practices.
• Experience leading front-end modernisation or migration initiatives.
• Ability to mentor and guide developers and technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• AI mindset with an interest in leveraging emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of existing front-end applications into modern React-based solutions.
• Define front-end architecture, engineering standards and best practices.
• Develop scalable applications using React.js, Node.js and Azure technologies.
• Collaborate with product owners, technical leads and business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior developers and support data engineers transitioning into React development.
• Champion DevOps, automation and continuous integration practices.
• Implement test-driven development and ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Act as a subject matter expert across multiple application and data domains.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, maintainability and user experience.
• Support delivery of robust, reusable and monitored data products aligned to business objectives.
