Salary Range: £60-70,000 per annum depending on relevant experience

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Front End Software Engineer to lead the development of flight control and ground station software using modern web technologies. The role covers all aspects of Software Engineering including design, implementation and testing. This exciting role will place the right candidate at the forefront of unmanned air systems development in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with the UX Designer & Researcher to design user interfaces
  • Technical leadership of Front End software
  • Build pixel-perfect, responsive user interfaces
  • Define, document, own and evolve a robust design system
  • Deliver software iteratively to milestones and/or deadlines
  • Lead on decisions around best-practice tooling and process for the front end
  • Collaborate on sprint planning and estimations
  • Ensure code quality is maintained by contributing to code reviews and implementing appropriate test coverage
  • Contribute to project and customer meetings, with occasional travel required
About You

Skills & Competencies

Essential
  • Significant experience working as a Front End Software Engineer
  • A portfolio of UI responsive design work
  • Ability to create Figma Auto layouts and variables
  • Awareness of atomic design principles, branding & accessibility with an excellent attention to detail
  • Team collaboration using issue tracking tools
  • Creating new software features from user stories to meet acceptance criteria
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards
  • Collaboration with UX researchers/designers, developers, project managers etc
Desirable
  • Experience working on greenfield software projects
  • Creating and working to coding standards
  • Solid understanding of accessibility and UX
Qualifications

  • Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK
  • Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel
