Role overview

We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer who lives and breathes front-end development to join us working with our media client. You will be joining the Content Metadata engineering team to accelerate the development and delivery of the outcomes defined in the Passport Control evolution and the Contributors use case.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with existing teams to increase the technical skill level, development capacity and delivery cadence – these goals may evolve and expand to cover more giving you the chance to utilise your expertise with a variety of different challenges.

The successful application will have expertise writing React and JavaScript. Experience of either NodeJS and TypeScript would be beneficial. You will perfectly integrate into the existing team following pair programming, code reviews and TDD best practices whilst following a Scrum methodology.

You will:

  • have extensive experience developing services and APIs in React and JavaScript
  • have experience working within the AWS or Cloud ecosystem
  • have knowledge of NodeJS and/or TypeScript (desired)
  • be comfortable working in and deploying to production environment
  • enjoy collaborating with other engineers
  • have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
  • have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation

Experience

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
  • Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
  • Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
  • You are flexible and curious in your approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional information

Duration of the contract: initially 6 months with the possibility of extension – contract FTC (full-time)
