Qualifications

• Strong experience building production React applications with TypeScript.
• Demonstrable experience with Next.js, including SSR, SSG, App Router, API routes and middleware.
• Experience integrating with headless CMS platforms such as Directus, Contentful, Strapi, Sanity or similar.
• Confidence working with GraphQL and/or RESTful APIs.
• A strong testing discipline, including unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Experience leading or mentoring other frontend engineers.
• A self-starting approach, able to make sound technical decisions independently.
• Active use of AI coding assistants in professional work.

Your Role

Senior Frontend React Developer

As a Senior Frontend React Developer at Global, you’ll own the frontend technical direction across this space, working alongside the Tech Lead. You’ll drive architecture decisions, lead delivery across multiple products, and set the standard for how we build modern web applications using Next.js, TypeScript and headless CMS, with AI-assisted development embedded in day-to-day workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership & Architecture: Own the frontend technical direction across the Shared space, making architectural and implementation decisions with autonomy and aligning with wider Commercial Tech standards.
• Feature Delivery: Lead the delivery of features and products using Next.js (App Router), TypeScript and headless CMS (e.g. Directus), from technical planning through to production deployment and support.
• Shared Platform Contribution: Contribute to and consume shared component libraries, design tokens and cross-team packages that serve the wider Commercial Tech estate.
• AI-Assisted Development: Champion AI-assisted development practices, using tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery, generate tests, scaffold components and enable cross-discipline contribution.
• Collaboration & Mentoring: Work closely with product, design and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment, and mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Standards & Governance: Support the Frontend Tech Lead in setting and maintaining coding standards, governance and architectural direction across the frontend landscape.

What You’ll Need
