ABOUT THE ROLE

To support the business in the management of fraud prevention and detection, whilst promoting the importance of maintaining a first-class customer experience. Control fraud losses to within appetite, ensuring continued compliance with consumer credit regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Undertake statistical analysis to review and optimise fraud prevention and detection strategies.
  • Define, plan and lead small analytical projects ensuring timescales are met and quality is maintained.
  • Code, test and implement approved changes to the fraud and AML strategy, acting as primary internal fraud contact.
  • Produce detailed, accurate fraud and AML MI and identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities. Define and develop new MI reports to meet business needs.
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis to investigate specific fraud issues.
  • Compile and maintain comprehensive documentation of fraud strategies, procedures and processes.
  • Lead on the review and analysis of new fraud systems, processes and technology.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, resolve issues and/or improve business performance.
  • Provide technical, AML and Fraud SME support to the operational fraud teams.
  • To be committed to good outcomes for customers at all times.
  • To comply with FCA regulations, where applicable.
  • Demonstrate behaviours in line with our Company values.
  • To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by acts and omissions at work.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable UK and local regulations, Company Policies and FCA Conduct Rules.

ABOUT YOU

  • Intermediate user of Excel - able to set up and use tables, spreadsheets, graphs, and formulae (PIVOT tables and VLOOKUPs).
  • Basic commercial understanding of business and retailing.
  • Previous role held, work placement or part time role in a commercial or retail environment.
  • Experience of working in fraud prevention or detection.
  • Working knowledge of industry specific fraud prevention and detection tactics, technologies and systems.
  • Intermediate SAS/ SQL or Python capability.
  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent; preferably in a numerate discipline.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in data manipulation and analytical techniques.
  • Able to keep a customer focus throughout projects.
  • Able to independently find and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Able to communicate results from projects concisely and present recommendations after analysis.
  • Able to plan and prioritise projects and adapt to changes.
  • Advanced Excel user. Basic competence in use of a database package such as Access or more advanced.
  • Good understanding of retailing, markets, customer groups.
  • Experience in reacting to fraud trends and attacks with a results based focus .
