Job summary

TEKEVER in the United Kingdom is seeking an senior FPGA engineer to own the FPGA and SoC design for payload video and control, driving in-house electronics from prototype to production. You will develop the video pipeline and real-time interfaces while collaborating with cross-functional teams across UK, Portugal, US and Europe.

Travel is expected; security clearance is required, with a competitive package, discretionary bonus, and a hybrid working model centered on Bristol sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronic engineering or related discipline with around 10 years of FPGA development.
• Strong VHDL or SystemVerilog, with fluency in major FPGA toolchains.
• Delivered video or imaging pipelines in hardware with camera/serial sensor interfaces.
• Experience with programmable logic and embedded processors sharing work (register maps, drivers, boot).
• Hands-on hardware debugging with scopes, logic analyzers, and schematic literacy in Altium.
• Airborne or defence hardware experience is an advantage.
• Security Vetting: eligible for UK SC level Security Clearance.
• Willing to travel nationally and internationally to TEKEVER sites.

Responsibilities

• Own FPGA and SOC design for payload video and control: RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing closure and bring-up.
• Develop the video pipeline from capture to output, including corrections and overlays.
• Implement real-time interfaces for pointing and stabilisation with cross-functional teams.
• Take in-house boards through production, reducing reliance on bought-in units.
• Define verification and chase results: testbenches, coverage, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop rigs.
• Review schematics in Altium and mentor other engineers on standards and configuration control.
