Job summary

TEKEVER in the UK seeks a senior FPGA engineer to own the FPGA/SoC design for gimbal payloads, delivering the video pipeline and real-time interfaces with cross-functional teams. You will take in-house electronics from prototype to production and mentor others in design practices.

Travel to TEKEVER sites worldwide is required; knowledge of UK SC security clearance is advantageous and supported by the defence-focused contract environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronic engineering or a related discipline with 10+ years FPGA development experience.
• Strong VHDL or SystemVerilog with fluency in main FPGA toolchains.
• Experience delivering video/imaging pipelines in hardware with camera interfaces.
• Experience of designs where programmable logic and embedded processors share work.

Responsibilities

• Own FPGA and SoC design for payload video and control: RTL, simulation, synthesis, timing closure.
• Develop the video pipeline from sensor capture through stabilization and overlay to output.
• Implement real-time interfaces for pointing and stabilization with cross-functional teams.
• Take in-house boards through to production, reducing reliance on bought-in units.
• Define verification strategies: testbenches, coverage, hardware-in-the-loop rigs.
• Review schematics in Altium and mentor engineers on coding and configuration control.
