Location: London / Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)
Salary Range: £110,000 - £130,000 + Discretionary Bonus
Reporting to: Senior Finance Leadership
Type: Permanent
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded and technically strong Senior FP&A Manager to join a rapidly growing international specialist insurance business.
Following a period of significant growth, the business is investing heavily in strengthening its finance infrastructure, modernising financial planning processes and developing a more forward-looking, technology-enabled FP&A function.
This is a high-impact opportunity to take ownership of core financial planning activities while driving meaningful improvements through systems optimisation, automation and artificial intelligence (AI).
The successful candidate will play a central role in transforming how financial information is produced, analysed and used across the organisation, helping to move the function beyond traditional reporting towards strategic insight and decision support.
This position offers a combination of hands‑on FP&A ownership, finance transformation and the opportunity to shape the future development of a growing function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of core FP&A processes, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-term financial planning and management reporting.
- Lead the ongoing development, adoption and optimisation of Pigment, the business's financial planning and forecasting platform.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial planning processes through AI, automation and workflow redesign, reducing manual activities and improving operational efficiency.
- Develop and enhance financial models, including scenario analysis across the profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow, to support commercial decision‑making.
- Produce high-quality financial reporting, analysis and insights for executive leadership, the Board and investors.
- Drive improvements in forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency and the overall quality of financial information.
- Work closely with Finance Business Partners, financial reporting colleagues and wider business stakeholders to ensure effective financial planning and performance management.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and processes, encouraging greater engagement with financial planning systems and automation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to increase analytical capacity, enabling the finance function to focus on business performance, emerging risks and commercial opportunities.
- Support the wider finance transformation agenda, helping to establish scalable processes and systems capable of supporting continued international growth.
- Contribute to the development of FP&A capabilities, with potential responsibility for supporting and managing a small team as the function evolves.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong and established background in Financial Planning & Analysis, with significant experience owning budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance management processes.
- A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, supported by substantial post‑qualification experience.
- Demonstrable experience implementing, developing or optimising FP&A systems and financial planning platforms, beyond simply using them for reporting.
- A proven track record of delivering process improvements, automation initiatives or systems enhancements, with the ability to demonstrate measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy or analytical capability.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, including advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Practical experience applying technology, automation, AI or data-driven solutions to improve financial processes and reporting.
- A commercially focused mindset, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage senior leadership and drive organisational change.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach, combining strong technical FP&A knowledge with a genuine interest in improving systems, processes and ways of working.
- The ability to operate effectively in a growing or evolving organisation, managing competing priorities while contributing to longer‑term transformation initiatives.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Direct experience using, developing or optimising Pigment as an enterprise financial planning platform.
- Experience implementing or enhancing comparable enterprise planning, forecasting or performance management systems.
- Previous involvement in AI-led finance transformation or advanced automation initiatives.
- Experience working within a rapidly growing, international or private equity‑backed organisation.
- Exposure to the insurance, Lloyd's or wider financial services markets.
- Previous experience managing, mentoring or developing FP&A analysts.
