Job summary

Harrington Starr is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer in London to lead client engagements at the intersection of technology and financial markets. You will own delivery from requirements through design, development and deployment, embracing complex investment data and multi-asset workflows.

You will collaborate with hedge funds, asset managers and major institutions, driving solutions in Python and C# while maintaining strong client relationships and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial software engineering experience.
• Excellent Python and C# skills.
• Experience with APIs, Git, CI/CD and containerised environments.
• Strong understanding of investment management / financial markets.
• Knowledge of OMS, PMS, EMS, Trade Operations, Risk or Portfolio Compliance.
• Experience working with investment data across multiple asset classes.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience owning technical delivery from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Own client workstreams end-to-end.
• Design and build client-specific solutions using Python, C#, APIs.
• Work across investment data, workflows and integrations.
• Debug and solve complex technical and data issues.
• Translate investment operating models into technology solutions.
• Work across Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Alternatives.
• Partner directly with senior client stakeholders.
• Manage delivery plans, risks, dependencies and milestones.
• Feed client requirements back into Product & Engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards.
