Job summary

Lighthouse seeks a Digital Forensics professional to lead forensic data collection and analysis for investigations and litigation. You will collect data from multiple sources, identify relevant sources through custodian interviews, and maintain strict evidence handling and billing records.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in digital forensics, proficiency with EnCase, FTK, XWays and Cellebrite tools, and a willingness to work onsite with occasional remote capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2–4 years of Digital Forensics experience.
• At least one security or digital forensics certification recommended.
• Ability to multi-task, analyze and problem solve.
• Proficiency with leading forensic tools listed above.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensically sound collections of ESI from laptops, desktops, mobile devices, drives, servers and cloud sources onsite and remotely.
• Verify, extract and analyze data in support of investigations and litigation.
• Conduct custodian interviews to identify relevant data sources.
• Provide proactive status updates to internal and external clients.
• Prepare remote collection kits for redeployment.
• Log and track evidence, maintain chain of custody.
• Enter billable time and descriptions into billing system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What will this person do?

• Perform forensically sound collections of ESI from laptops, desktops, mobile devices, hard drives, servers and cloud data sources both onsite and remotely.
• Verify, extract and analyze data in support of investigations and litigation
• Conduct custodian interviews to identify relevant data sources
• Provide proactive status updates to both internal and external clients
• Prepare remote collection kits for redeployment
• Log and track evidence, update chain of custody logs and follow evidence management best practices
• Enter billable time and descriptions into billing system.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Two to four years of experience in Digital Forensics
• At least one security or digital forensics industry certifications, such as CISSP, EnCE, CCE, CFCE, MCFE, or similar
• Ability to multi-task, analyze and problem solve, and coach less other experienced members.
• Proficient in the use of EnCase, AccessData Forensic Toolkit, XWays, Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Inspector (formerly Blacklight), Axiom or open-source forensic tools
• Strong mastery of data collection, preservation, and chain of custody principles and procedures
• An understanding of file systems, computer hardware and computer networking concepts
• Strong Mac, Linux / UNIX, other operating systems experience is a plus

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table
• Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting
• Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
