Job summary

Lighthouse in London seeks a Senior Forensic Associate to lead onsite and remote collection of electronic evidence across laptops, mobiles, servers and cloud sources. You will analyze data to support investigations and litigation, maintaining strict chain-of-custody standards.

Role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 2–4 years in digital forensics, and relevant certifications such as CISSP, EnCE or CFCE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in Digital Forensics.
• At least one security or digital forensics industry certification (e.g., CISSP, EnCE, CCE, CFCE, MCFE).
• Ability to multi-task, analyze and solve problems, and coach less experienced team members.
• Proficient with EnCase, AccessData FTK, XWays, Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Inspector, Axiom or open-source tools.
• Strong knowledge of data collection, preservation and chain of custody.
• Understanding of file systems, hardware and networking concepts; Mac/Linux/UNIX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensically sound collections of ESI from laptops, desktops, mobile devices, hard drives, servers and cloud data sources both onsite and remotely.
• Verify, extract and analyze data in support of investigations and litigation.
• Conduct custodian interviews to identify relevant data sources.
• Provide proactive status updates to internal and external clients.
• Prepare remote collection kits for redeployment.
• Log and track evidence, update chain of custody logs and follow evidence management best practices.
• Enter billable time and descriptions into billing system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Senior Forensic Associates are responsible for onsite and remote collection of electronically stored information (ESI) from computers, mobile devices, collaboration apps and cloud repositories. Using state-of-the-art technology, they process and analyze data in support of forensic investigations and litigation.

What will this person do?

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Two to four years of experience in Digital Forensics
• At least one security or digital forensics industry certifications, such as CISSP, EnCE, CCE, CFCE, MCFE, or similar
• Ability to multi-task, analyze and problem solve, and coach less other experienced members.
• Proficient in the use of EnCase, AccessData Forensic Toolkit, XWays, Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Inspector (formerly Blacklight), Axiom or open-source forensic tools
• Strong mastery of data collection, preservation, and chain of custody principles and procedures
• An understanding of file systems, computer hardware and computer networking concepts
• Strong Mac, Linux / UNIX, other operating systems experience is a plus

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table
• Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting
• Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
