Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly specialised Speech and Language Therapist to work across forensic and mental health settings. You will deliver advanced assessments and tailored interventions for individuals with complex communication and swallowing disorders, contributing to care planning and multidisciplinary reviews.

Qualifications

Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
Health Professional Council – Licence to Practice.
Registered with Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCOT).
Evidence of recent professional development in an up-to-date portfolio with successful completion of specialist short courses up to Master’s level.

Responsibilities

Deliver highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with complex communication, feeding and swallowing difficulties.
Develop and implement personalised therapy programmes; adapt interventions to individual, cultural and linguistic needs.
Provide expert written and verbal advice to patients, carers, families and multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrate advanced skills in managing patients with severe communication difficulties, disabilities and mental health needs while promoting engagement and shared decision‑making.
Produce specialist reports, develop care pathways, contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
