Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Mental Health Service at Rampton Hospital. The post involves 10 PAs with direct clinical care and supporting activities, and a potential academic/research session for suitably experienced candidates.

The post requires GMC Specialist Register eligibility, Approved Clinician status and Section 12(2) approval, with DBS clearance. Applications from fully registered clinicians are invited.

Qualifications

• Recognised basic medical degree.
• MRCPsych or equivalent.
• Good clinical governance and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess admissions to Rampton Hospital and provide opinions across the service.
• Act as Care Programme Approach Co-ordinator and lead MDT meetings.
• Chair clinical team meetings and CPA meetings; oversee care plans.
• Provide timely tribunals and official reports; liaise with MoJ and other agencies.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audits and service development.
• Supervise non-consultant doctors and assist with staff training.
