Ringway Jacobs is seeking a Senior Flood Risk Engineer to support the Flood Risk Manager in delivering statutory duties as a Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA). You will lead on flood alleviation schemes, provide expert advice on SuDS and hydrology, and coordinate with agencies to ensure compliant development control.

The role requires delivering surface water management, drainage consents, and incident investigations, plus technical leadership and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualificações

• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Essential).
• Experience in flood risk management, drainage engineering, or related technical field (Essential).
• Knowledge of SuDS, hydrology, drainage design standards, and national policy (Essential).
• Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and hydrological modelling tools (Essential).

Responsabilidades

• Deliver LLFA statutory functions including surface water management, land drainage consenting, enforcement, and incident investigation.
• Provide specialist technical advice on flood risk, drainage, SuDS design, and mitigation measures.
• Lead on development, appraisal, design and delivery of flood alleviation schemes and business cases.
• Support the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and Surface Water Management Plan.
• Collaborate with Environment Agency, United Utilities, and local communities to manage flood risk.
• Oversee drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and technical submissions for new development.
• Maintain and update the asset register of flood risk structures (Section 21 duties).
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and performance reviews within the team.
• Lead hydrological and hydraulic assessments and the application of national SuDS standards.
