Job Description
My client, an innovative, world-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Senior Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their growing team of specialist consultants in the lively, maritime city of Liverpool.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Environmental Management, Geography, Civil Engineering, or other relevant background
- Demonstrable experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
- Experience of developing Water Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and/or flood risk modelling, within a consultancy-based role
- Knowledge of developing Drainage Strategies and drainage design, including an awareness of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and the Approving Body (SAB) in Wales
- Good working knowledge of a range of design software, including AutoCAD, Causeway Flow, MicroDrainage, InfoWorks, and others
- An awareness of the appropriate Geographical Information Systems (GIS), including ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (namely S104, S106, etc.)
It would also be beneficial for applicants to possess:
- Some prior experience of providing project management support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- An analytical mindset and strong technical skills
- Chartered Status, or actively working toward attaining this
Role Responsibilities:
- Completing and overseeing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Flood Consequence Assessments (FCAs) across various projects
- Designing complex Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Drainage Strategies
- Submitting successful proposals to SAB within relevant Local Authorities in Wales
- Overseeing Flood Investigations in respect of Section 19
- Managing the preparation of feasibility studies and supporting drawings
- Providing leadership and mentorship within the team
- Leading projects from conception to delivery
- Adhering to deadlines and budgets, maintaining high standards of work
- Establishing and managing stakeholder relations
