About The Role

Contract: permanent and fixed term contracts

Location: District or Service Headquarters based

Our Fire Protection team works closely with regulators, businesses, housing providers, and other responsible persons to ensure compliance with Fire Safety laws and that premises are safe from fire for users.

The Senior Fire Safety Inspector (SFSI) is a key member of the Community Risk Management (CRM) Protection Directorate. The role involves assessing and auditing fire risks, advising on fire safety measures, inspecting high-risk and complex premises, and contributing to fire safety solutions to minimize community risks.

The SFSI will act as deputy to the Fire Safety Manager (FSM), managing a Fire Safety District or department, mentoring and coaching Fire Safety Inspectors, and supporting the FSM in assessing inspector competence according to national standards.

The SFSI will ensure achievement of performance indicators related to their responsibilities, plan and evaluate work activities, and propose improvements for continuous service enhancement.

Applicants should demonstrate high professional competence in management, leadership, and technical fire safety, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and fire engineering principles is essential.
