Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Fire Safety Consultant to join a dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure fire safety compliance across a diverse portfolio of properties, providing expert advice, conducting risk assessments, and supporting the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Risk Assessments: Lead comprehensive fire risk assessments across a range of commercial and residential premises, ensuring adherence to current legislation and best practice.
Consultancy and Advisory Services: Deliver expert, tailored fire safety advice and strategies to clients, addressing specific risks and operational needs.
Fire Door Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of fire doors, ensuring regulatory compliance and providing guidance on required remedial work.
Team Support and Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior consultants, promoting knowledge sharing and consistent service delivery.
Client Engagement: Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact for fire safety matters.
Report Writing: Produce clear, detailed reports outlining assessment findings, recommendations, and prioritised action plans.
Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and best practices, ensuring the consultancy remains at the forefront of the industry.
Qualifications, Experience, Skill & Professional Registration:
Relevant fire safety qualification, such as Level 4 Certificate/Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment or equivalent.
Professional membership with bodies such as the IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers) or IFSM (Institute of Fire Safety Managers).
Ideally a Tiered Registered Fire Risk Assessor with a recognised professional body.
Significant experience conducting fire risk assessments within both residential and commercial environments.
Demonstrable experience in developing fire safety strategies and overseeing implementation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively.
Confident leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
High-level report writing and attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, relevant British Standards, and building regulations.
