Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting a Senior Fire Safety Advisor for a North London Local Authority to lead its residential fire risk assessment programme. Based in North London, you will deliver fire risk assessments across social housing, liaise with senior management, contractors and regulators, and drive improvements in fire safety standards while ensuring compliance with legislation.

This contract is initially 3 months, with a day rate of £400 Umbrella Inside IR35, reflecting senior-level fire

Qualifications

• Level 5+ qualification in Fire Safety or Fire Engineering.
• Graduate membership or above of a recognised professional body.
• Extensive fire risk assessment experience within social housing and complex residential buildings.
• Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, British Standards, building construction and fire protection systems.
• Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with the Apex asset management system is desirable.
• A current driving licence and vehicle insurance for business use are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the residential fire risk assessment programme, ensuring assessments are commissioned, completed and validated.
• Undertake and quality assure fire risk assessments across residential properties.
• Monitor compliance with fire safety legislation and oversee remedial actions.
• Provide specialist fire safety advice to senior stakeholders, colleagues and contractors.
• Support fire safety investigations, regulatory engagement and collaborative site visits with the London Fire Brigade.
• Maintain accurate records, analyse compliance data and prepare management reports.
• Drive continuous improvement in fire safety standards and processes.
