Job summary

The Talent People is recruiting a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for a major Singapore project in Changi. You will lead and supervise fire protection works, mentor a growing team, and ensure delivery to specification, on time and in compliance with authority requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with authorities and subcontractors, reviewing design drawings, planning testing and commissioning, and guiding junior engineers through on-site execution and handover.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services as required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection systems within construction.
• Proficient in MS Office and reporting.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Knowledge of sprinkler, fire alarm, hosereel, wet/dry riser, hydrant and intercom systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise subcontractors' work progression per shop drawings, method statements, materials and samples.
• Liaise with authorities, subcontractors and clients on drawings, materials and samples; ensure compliance.
• Identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural provisions and client requirements.
• Manage and execute project per schedule; attend contractor meetings.
• Allocate work to supervisors and junior engineers; lead testing and commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Follow up on site/authority inspections and defect rectification.
• Prepare OMM and As-Built drawings for handover; manage DLP maintenance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on site.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead and supervise fire protection works on a major project based in Changi. The incumbent will mentor and guide a growing team of engineers and ensure delivery of fire protection systems to specification, on time and in compliance with all authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise sub-contractors' work progression per shop drawings, method statements, materials, and samples
• Liaise with relevant authorities, sub-contractors, and clients on shop drawings, materials, and samples - Review and align fire protection design drawings for compliance (Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, Hosereel, Wet/Dry Riser, Fire Hydrant, Fireman Intercom systems)
• Identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural, and client provisions
• Manage and execute project per schedule; attend contractor meetings
• Allocate work to supervisors and junior engineers; ensure delivery within standards and SOP - Plan and lead testing and commissioning of fire protection systems
• Follow up on site/authority inspections and defect rectification
• Prepare OMM, training, As-Built drawings for handover
• Manage DLP maintenance of fire protection systems
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on site

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Building Services
• 5 years of relevant experience in fire protection systems within the construction industry
• Proficient in MS office
• Good communication and written skills
• Knowledge across multiple fire protection system types (Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, Hosereel, Wet/Dry Riser, Fire Hydrant, Fireman Intercom); Water Mist and foam system experience an advantage.
• Able to work independently and possess good interpersonal skills
• No FSSD licensing required

Work Arrangements

• Working Hours: 5.5 days - Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm, Sat 8.30am-12.30pm
• Location: Changi
