Additional Resources Ltd is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Engineer to support the delivery and technical performance of fire and life safety systems.

The role is field-based in London or nearby areas with a base salary of £40,000–£45,000 per year plus paid travel, on-call and overtime allowances, aiming for total earnings of £50,000–£60,000.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on fire alarm engineer with complex technical experience.
• Provides technical guidance and supports engineers on challenging issues.
• Responsible for commissioning documentation and on-site audits.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, carrying out complex fault diagnosis.
• Configuring system logic, cause-and-effect functions and networked panel arrangements, using manufacturer software for configuration, diagnostics and optimisation.
• Working across fire alarm platforms including Gent, Advanced, Ziton, Morley and Kentec, alongside air sampling, suppression and smoke ventilation.
• Acting as a technical lead on site, providing guidance, mentoring and practical support to engineers, while contributing to skills development and technical standards.
• Completing commissioning documentation, technical reports, audits and inspections, while providing professional technical support to customers and stakeholders and supporting compliance with standards.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fire Alarm Engineer to join an established fire and security services provider, supporting the delivery and technical performance of fire and life safety systems.

This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced fire engineer who can take responsibility for complex technical work, provide technical guidance to other engineers and act as a point of support when more challenging issues arise.

This is a field-based role offering a basic salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, plus paid travel, on-call and overtime allowances, with total average earnings of £50,000 - £60,000.

Candidates can be based anywhere in London or within 15 miles north and 20 miles south of St Albans (office location).

You will be responsible for:

• Commissioning and testing addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, carrying out complex fault diagnosis and resolving technical issues.
• Configuring system logic, cause-and-effect functions and networked panel arrangements, using manufacturer software for system configuration, diagnostics and optimisation.
• Working across fire alarm platforms including Gent, Advanced, Ziton, Morley and Kentec, alongside associated systems such as air sampling, suppression and smoke ventilation.
• Acting as a technical lead on site, providing guidance, mentoring and practical support to engineers, while contributing to skills development and technical standards.
• Completing commissioning documentation, technical reports, audits and inspections, while providing professional technical support to customers and stakeholders and supporting compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
