Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Fintech team in London to help design and rebuild components of the billing platform.

You will work on metering, subscriptions, invoicing, payments, and financial workflows, collaborating with Product, Finance, and other engineering groups to deliver scalable, secure services.

This role offers a hybrid work model, exposure to high-scale billing, and a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems or backend services in production.
• Proficiency in Go or another modern language and interest in Go.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and API security standards.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Ability to design secure, highly available microservices on Linux/Unix.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures.
• Excellent troubleshooting and project ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain transactional microservices for billing.
• Lead projects from requirements through deployment and maintenance.
• Create fault-tolerant systems with retries, concurrency, and high transaction volumes.
• Monitor production services and resolve recurring billing issues.
• Participate in architecture reviews and improve engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Accounting, Support, and other teams.
