Job summary

Johnston Carmichael is recruiting an Audit Senior/Supervisor to join our Financial Services Audit team in Scotland. The role heads day-to-day audits, develops client relationships and ensures deadlines and budgets are met.

You will lead planning, coordinate with the audit manager, and train assistants while maintaining high standards of work. A CA qualification and FS audit experience are preferred, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA (or equivalent) and above; part-qualified considered with suitable experience.
• Able to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Excellent organisational and proactive working style.
• Experience in financial services audits is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completing or overseeing the audit planning documentation
• Arranging the timing of the audit work with the audit manager
• Planning, scheduling, and delegating work to audit assistants, ensuring high standards
• Briefing, training and debriefing audit assistants, with formal feedback
• Liaising with client staff and building relationships
• Monitoring budgeted vs actual time and flagging scope/issues
• Keeping client staff informed of progress while maintaining confidentiality
