Job summary

Softcat plc in Marlow, United Kingdom, is recruiting a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant on a 12-month FTC maternity cover. You will join the Financial Reporting and Control team, working closely with transactional finance and other business operations to ensure accurate, timely corporate reporting.

You will own and evolve technical accounting and reporting processes, prepare management accounts and creditor statements, support HY/YE audits, and lead ad hoc projects to enhance reporting

Qualifications

ACA, ACCA or CIMA with post-qualification experience
Confident, proactive and professional approach
Strong technical accounting and analytical skills
Problem solving and drive to improve reporting

Responsibilities

Owning and evolving technical accounting and reporting for revenue recognition, IFRS 15, SBP, Consolidation, FX, intercompany
Providing timely management accounts, financial statements and variance analysis
Ensuring readiness for HY and YE audits and acting as key contact for auditors
Leading ad hoc and project-based work across the reporting function
Owning balance sheet reconciliations and key controls

The Financial Reporting and Control team are growing in response to the demands of a fast-growing business and an increasingly demanding control and governance environment. Led by the Group Financial Reporting Manager who reports into the Head of Group Financial Reporting, the team sit alongside and work closely with the transactional finance teams (credit control and accounts payable) and other areas of business operations. The team are ultimately responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of Company numbers both internally and externally. This role provides an opportunity to work in the heart of a fast-evolving and dynamic business, reporting accurate numbers and driving control change.

Be at the heart of financial reporting

The successful candidate will be a key player in the Financial Reporting and Control team as well as the wider finance function of a thriving FTSE-250 Company. Driving the accuracy and timeliness of corporate reporting, internally and externally, this individual will live in the heart of the business. The team is growing quickly to adapt as the business grows and adds complexity and this is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to get involved across all areas of the business and implement changes which ultimately improve reporting quality. In this role there will be exposure to most areas of reporting and work closely with various business operation functions.

As a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you'll beresponsible for:

Owning and evolving technical accounting andreporting for areas such as revenue recognition, IFRS 15, SBP, Consolidation, FX, intercompany.
Providing timely and accuratemanagement accounts, financial statements and variance analysis- directly and via members of the team.
Ensuring readiness and assist in delivering successful HY and YE audits, being a key contact for the auditors.
Leading and delivering ad hoc & project-based work.
Owning assurance and reporting of complex balance sheet reconciliations and key controls for several areas.

We'd love you to have

A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with relevant post-qualification experience gained in practice, industry, or a combination of both.
A Confident and proactive, professional, approach.
Strong technical accounting & analytical skills with the ability to clearly document and convey complex topics.
A drive to succeed and progress.
Proven ability to problem solve.
Ability to motivate others and instil values that alignto the highest levels of customer service whilemaintaining high levels of employeeengagement.
