RWE Offshore Wind is seeking a Senior Financial Manager to join the Projects & Investments UK&I and Southern Europe team (P&I UK&SE) to support our large scale Offshore Wind Farms. The role is a key and challenging project role; responsible for coordination and steering of all financial and financial related workstreams of a project. It involves projects from early development through auction bid, FID to commissioning and handover to operational phase.

With an international team spanning across Europe, USA, and Asia, this position offers an opportunity to a self-motivated and highly responsible individual to be part of a growing team and business with substantial growth potential in offshore wind for the UK. Cultural sensitivity and intellectual flexibility are valued traits. Hybrid working is central to our operations, with travel also required.

Your future plans

  • Supporting the wider Financial team in the project
  • Coordination of respective Finance and related workstreams, including:
  • Responsibility for the business case process, updates, and level of detail
  • Ownership of the assumption book and cost book
  • Aligning financial models and results with project owners and steering financial advisors
  • Managing project risk & opportunity register, contingency analysis, and insurance coordination
  • Responsibility for all cost management systems, including contract management and change control
  • Coordination of accounting and tax workstreams
  • Ownership of budgeting, project cost controls, and reporting processes
  • Collaboration with legal, procurement, and commercial functions
  • Development of bankable project structures, contracts, and project documentation
  • Deriving and challenging financial assumptions through benchmarking
  • Analyzing project economics and presenting results for approval
  • Representing project finance at steering committees and board meetings
  • Ensuring financial considerations in grid connection planning
  • Supporting bid group proposals and project approval papers
  • Establishing project governance aligned with project owners
  • Sharing best practices and lessons learned with the financial team

Your profile

  • 4-6 years’ experience managing large-scale projects, preferably offshore or power plants
  • Broad finance background, including valuation, project financing, controlling, procurement
  • Accounting experience is beneficial
  • Degree in business administration, engineering, banking, or economics
  • Structured working approach, strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience leading and motivating teams
  • Ability to work in international groups and present confidently
  • Fluent in English; German skills are a plus
  • Trustworthy, adaptable personality
  • Willing to undertake business trips
  • Capable of working independently and in international teams
