Job summary

Barclay Simpson is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Governance Manager to lead financial governance across a regulated organisation. You will act as a central point for governance matters, shaping frameworks, risk management and controls while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

The role offers broad exposure across finance, risk, audit and executive stakeholders, with the opportunity to drive continuous improvement and strengthen the control environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial governance, risk management or financial controls in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory requirements in financial services or similar regulated sectors.
• Experience managing relationships with internal and external auditors and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance financial governance frameworks, policies and controls across the organisation
• Coordinate internal audit activity and engage with auditors and stakeholders
• Monitor risk management processes and provide assurance on control effectiveness
• Support governance reporting and board/ Audit Committee matters
• Ensure regulatory reporting compliance and evolving governance obligations
• Build relationships with regulators and auditors
• Support ESG reporting, business continuity planning and wider governance initiatives
• Provide guidance and training to strengthen financial risk and control awareness
