Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance leader to join our dynamic banking organisation. This is a strategic, hands-on role that will provide deep insight into the practical management of Finance and continue to drive change and automation within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Management of 4 direct reports and 9 indirect reports.
  2. Overseeing the month-end process and implementing a comprehensive Balance Sheet Analytics framework.
  3. Serving as the technical expert for all non-Treasury related accounting matters, including acquisitions, disposals, consolidation, and BAU activities.
  4. Leading and optimizing the month-end IFRS9 process.
  5. Supporting all finance change initiatives and assisting the Deputy CFO and Head of Financial Control with cost-saving tracking.
  6. Acting as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely delivery of management documents, resolving management letter points, remediating SUAD items, and reviewing accounts prior to publication.
  7. Coordinating Operations and Conduct Risk reporting, controls testing, and data governance reporting.
  8. Providing ad hoc support to the wider Financial Control team as needed.

The Person

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with previous experience leading a technical accounting function within the Banking sector.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly with IFRS standards and ERI accounting.
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and change initiatives, with a passion for AI.
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing audit processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
