Job summary

Venture Recruitment Partners is seeking a Financial Controller in Southampton with hybrid working to lead a sizeable finance function. You will report to the Finance Director, ensuring robust control, governance and timely reporting while developing a high-performing team.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and a proven track record in senior finance leadership within complex organisations, including audits, statutory reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading sizeable finance functions through managers and indirect reporting structures.
• Proven track record in coaching, mentoring and empowering finance teams.
• Strong financial control, reporting and governance experience.
• Experience managing audits, statutory reporting and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-layered finance function through direct and indirect reporting.
• Oversee financial control framework and governance activities.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes and statutory reporting.
• Drive finance transformation and data governance initiatives.
• Provide financial guidance and challenge to senior stakeholders for strategic decisions.
