Building Careers UK is seeking a Financial Controller in Manchester to lead day-to-day financial operations, provide accurate management information, and support senior management with commercial and financial decision-making.

The role suits a hands-on professional in a growing, entrepreneurial environment across construction, property and related activities, with responsibility for budgets, reporting and system improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Financial Controller or similar role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience in construction, property, development or project-based environments.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Budgets, forecasts and cash flow management.
• Knowledge of WIP, project accounting and cost control.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
• ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day financial management and accounting functions.
• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Producing budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Monitoring working capital and cash flow.
• Overseeing purchase and sales ledger processes.
• Supporting year-end accounts and external audits.
