Job summary

WPP Media is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to join its finance function. You will lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, maintain robust financial controls, and deliver timely, accurate reporting including P&L and balance sheet commentary.

The role centers on group reporting, stakeholder management and team leadership, with a focus on process improvements, automation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Experience in Financial Controller or finance manager roles.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, lookups).
• Experience leading finance teams.
• Ability to drive process improvements and automation.
• Experience with audits and internal controls.
• Experience in media/advertising/tech/SaaS sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, half-year, and year-end close processes with timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with P&L and balance sheet commentary.
• Deliver variance analysis and stakeholder-facing insights.
• Oversee revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage group reporting packages to the wider finance function.
• Coach and develop finance team members.
• Support audit processes and governance compliance.
