This is a full time permanent post.

We are looking for a senior financial assessment officer to join our Client Support team within Adult Social Care. The successful person will be managing our busy team of financial assessment officers and clerical officers.

The financial assessment team complete assessments for adults who have been assessed as requiring care and support either in their own home or in a residential or nursing home as well as providing welfare benefit advice to maximise income for the individual and potential income recovery to the Council.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of adult social care charging policy and the financial assessment process, alongside experience of managing and motivating teams and individuals to produce accurate work in a fast paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to develop partnership working are essential.

The client support team work from home and from the office. The office base is Magdalen House in Bootle and the financial assessment team attend the office on Wednesdays. The senior financial assessment officer is also required to attend meetings and training in Magdalen House and in other council offices across the borough on other days as required. There may be some visits to clients in their homes throughout the Sefton borough.
