A leading global consultancy is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for its UK Finance Centre of Excellence. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, handling monthly reports, and liaising with auditors. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience and strong technical accounting skills in a multinational environment, particularly with IFRS (FRS 101).

Job Description

Senior Financial Accountant reporting to Head of Statutory Reporting within the UK Finance Centre of Excellence. Member of the team responsible for the preparation, review and audit of the UK statutory accounts, as well as monthly statutory reporting to parent company in Canada. This role provides exposure to Senior Vice-President- Finance UK & Ireland, business FDs and the Corporate teams in Montreal.

Your purpose:

  • Monthly legal entity reporting into Group Corporate systems (FCCS).
  • Quarterly reporting to corporate teams in Montreal including input into the production of the quarterly and annual Group published financial statements.
  • Preparation of the UK-registered subsidiaries’ financial statements under FRS 101 (18 companies in total).
  • Involvement with monthly accounts reconciliations using Blackline.
  • Liaison with internal departments including business finance directors and financial controllers, tax, treasury, company secretarial and internal audit.
  • Dealing with external and internal auditors.
  • Involvement in ad hoc projects, e.g. legal entity reduction and reorganisation, dividend planning etc.
  • Ongoing process improvement initiatives.

What you can bring:

  • Qualified accountant with external audit and accounting background, preferably in a Big Six firm, including UK statutory accounts experience in a multinational environment.
  • Years post qualification experience.
  • Strong technical accounting skills including experience of IFRS (FRS 101).
  • A thorough and logical approach to problem solving with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible- able to work well in a team as well as individually, and able to work to tight deadlines and timetables.
  • Self-starter able to show and use initiative.
  • FCCS/HFM and Oracle experience is preferable.
