Job description

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Senior Financial Accountant to join the NELFT Finance team.

Position Details

Band 6 to 7, depending on experience.

The role is based at the CEME Innovation Centre, Marsh Way, Rainham, RM13 8EY. The successful candidate will need good communication skills and the ability to understand highly complex financial information, translating it for non-financial managers and external organisations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the production of monthly accounts and maintain a comprehensive fixed asset register system, managing staff and working to tight deadlines.
2. Collaborate across the wider finance team.
3. Manage a team within the Financial Accounts Team.
4. Perform other financial duties as required by the Associate Director of Finance.
5. Work in an agile manner.

Induction and Onboarding

New starters will join on the first Monday of each month, undergoing a comprehensive induction lasting up to two weeks, including mandatory and systems training, and equipment allocation. There will be opportunities to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend sessions on engagement, health, wellbeing, and key processes. Inductions are held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Additional Information

• This position is subject to a probationary period, except for internal applicants or those currently on a probation or bank staff.
• A High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary applies, ranging from £4,551 to £5,735.
