Financial Accountant

Location: London Hybrid Working
Salary: Up to £62,000 + excellent benefits
Level: Qualified – ACCA/CIMA/ACA

Previous rail industry experience is essential

Cedar is recruiting on behalf of a leading transport sector organisation for a qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join a well-established finance team in Central London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the preparation and review of periodic balance sheets and cashflow reporting.
  • Lead the statutory accounts process, annual audited accounts, and IFRS16 reporting.
  • Manage external reporting requirements including VAT, PSA, Corporation Tax, and ORR submissions.
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the full audit lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance on accounting standards and support key accounting judgements.
  • Drive periodic balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust financial controls.
  • Assist the Financial Reporting Manager with ad hoc reporting and team support.
Key Requirements:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
  • Background in the rail or transport industry is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, modelling).
  • Proficiency with SAP, SAP BI, or BPC is an advantage.
  • Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
