We have an opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance division. The role will be a combination of hands-on work and supporting junior team members. This role will be offered as a 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover), and we may be open to part time for a highly skilled individual. About the role

You will support the Group Finance team to ensure that all financial obligations are met, through maintaining a clean and healthy balance sheet, ensuring all ledger postings are accurate and supportable, and verifying that our financial controls are sufficient.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing ledger postings and month-end results.
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations for quality and accuracy (significant component).
  • Identifying and highlighting risks and issues that appear on the balance sheet.
  • Reviewing internal processes for gaps or inefficiencies and proposing improvement opportunities.
  • Preparing business cases.
  • Acting as point of contact for any external or internal audit requirements.
  • Inspiring and supporting junior team members to ensure they are successful in their roles through setting goals and providing coaching to achieve them.
  • Liaising with key internal stakeholders across multiple business units with any issues that impact the Group finance team.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be skilled in all facets of financial accounting and is a natural leader who supports others. You will be able to work with financial and non-financial operational stakeholders.

You will have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant finance experience within a large organisation.
  • Previous experience managing direct reports, with the ability to lead and coach others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the capability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exposure to an ASX-listed company is highly desirable.
